I was beginning to wonder what they had operated on!Despite a general anaesthetic, I felt pretty chirpy afterwards, the anaesthetist came in to tell me that I had been given a nerve block, so I wouldn’t be able to feel anything in my right leg from the knee down… he was right- as I looked at my toes, and willed them to move, they wouldn’t!I have to say, that is the single most unnerving feeling I have had in my life. It’s a really tough and lonely place being injured, so I hope a bit of my story will be of use to someone else’s journey.Tamara Taylor is set to make her return for England this Saturday against Ireland in the women’s 6Nations Championship. I wish I had followed my gut instinct of just hopping my way to the toilet, because the bedpan situation was not a good one.
