That’s not to say other merchant models can’t use Square, but the minute you “stress” the system by processing large amounts, keying certain transactions, sell to commercial or government customers, or exceed any of the secret limitations Square has arbitrarily placed on your account, you run the risk of losing the value of the sale. If suspicious activity is found, Square will freeze the user’s account and hold any unreleased funds for the “entire time it takes” for a thorough risk investigation.
