Hi all, Well i have done the same thing as kenshin6104, I am at 5ghz using 4 cores, Here is my setup Motherboard: "ASrock 970 pro3 r2.0" Cpu: "Amd FX 8350 (4 cores) @5GHZ 1.432v with Corsair H100i liquid cooler" These haven't been fully tested over hours with prime or anything but at least completed a Cinebench run.Interesting, is this something where I would be able to get stable at lower voltage if I bump the LLC to extreme?When set to auto the voltage appears to be 1.368V.It seems like a lot of people (including that guide) say that on stock voltage most of these chips should be able to at least get some overclock at stock voltages, however I am unable to bump the clock speed up at all on stock voltages.
lol...I would like to overclock my new amd cpu to 4.5 ghz but i keep getting iqrl not equal error.or you can simply search amd overdrive in the search box here on amd websiteI've got my 8350 to 4.5Ghz on a m5a78l-m/usb3.I did add heatsinks to the vrm, but it only has a 4 + 1 power phase. Like if you have a 4.5ghz 3770k @ 1.38V 80C would wear down quicker than a 5.2ghz @ 1.6v 65C What about llc?Really horrid motherboard to overclock on. 2012/11/24 07:23:29 I thought that high heat was the only thing that actually shortened CPU life? You're board is fine for a mild overclock like 4.5ghz. ?In the BIOS I have all the usual power settings turned off people suggest when dialing in an overclock (C1E, cool n quiet C6, etc).Based on a lot of the other people results I am seeing, the voltages seem much higher than typical for these chips. Did I just lose the silicone lottery? Unless you lost the lottery, you should be able to get 4.4ghz at stock voltage. I believe the VRAM temp is around 50ish also but that I am not 100% certain of.
Are you turning cool n quiet off and c6 off?
Today, I will attempt the explain and demonstrate the fastest, and simplest way to overclock your AMD FX CPU. ehh that mobo is not bad to oc on , the llc is just ok but for a budget mobo still sports an ok 8 x 2 power phase , have several friends running this mobo and 8350/8370 and have their clocks at 4.7-5ghz . Use turbo for overclocking as well.

Whether I do this with clock multiplier or base clock either way in order to even get a stable 4.2 ghz clock speed I have to raise the core voltage by .020 volts.Unfortunately I only see atuo, regular and extreme as options unlike some of the other boards I have used in the past which had more options.That board hmm. Will swap my current FX-6300 (running 4.5GHz at 1.4V) for a 8350 and try some overclock - will my motherboard and power unit handle it? you really need to watch oc videos and understand what you're doing before doing so .
